About Us
EMI Design was founded in 2003 by proprietor Lance Marconi.
Statement
I knew at a very young age that I would follow a destiny to become an artist of some sort. I was raised in a nurturing environment with plenty influences. I was given positive encouragement, space and the right tools. Two of my major influences at that time were my father and books. The encyclopedia set on my family’s bookshelves stimulated my interest in history, knowledge and design, and my father’s ability to always find a solution to challenges inspired me to become an inventor, patent holder and go on to team design various commercially available products.As a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and after further business and engineering studies, I possess a complementary, diverse background in interior architecture, building construction, design, engineering and photography. After working for a Fortune 500 company for over a decade in facility planning, product design and quality & regulatory management, I decided to explore my own outside entrepreneurial opportunities. In 2007, after numerous positive comments and requests from clients, I sharpened my focus to industrial product design under contract for other companies. It was a perfect transition because I did have that corporate procedural product design background with leadership skills and responsibility from strategic analysis to concept development, pilot production to manufacturing, finally marketing and advertising.
As a single point person with this skill set, I am able to provide client service throughout the entire process of product development. This ultimately helps reduce overall cost, provides speed to market, maintains focus and helps eliminate communication errors. My hope is to continue growing as a designer, work with passionate inspired clients and always remember to think, dream, and appreciate.

In the recent years, with the changing markets, we found design opportunities by expanding our marketplace and more focused on product design and development. EMI Design has been fortunate to bring to market many new product to consumers. The most recent project is Modernelux TM, Geometric Lighting line and OG Series for Uncommon Radiance, Inc.
The Design studio begun designing for the mass market, and there has been a wonderful response to it. There’s been a great deal of positive feedback about product lines and the interest level continues to grow. The marketplace is recognizing our designs and quality. This is confirmed by being a Finalist as Product Designer of the Year and the many publications spot-lighting the product lines.
It appears that the studios diverse background gives EMI Design an advantage by understanding the many aspects of product brainstorming through post product market release. We have streamlined the process to provide maximum return on your investment. Ideally, this can help reduce overall cost, provide speed to market, and most importantly maintain open and clear error-free communication.
