Lance Marconi
Photographer
ARTIST STATEMENT
A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, Lance possesses a complementary, diverse background in photography, architecture, design, building construction and engineering. The encyclopedia set on his family’s bookshelves stimulated Lance’s interest in history, knowledge and design. And all of this curiosity fuels his passion for art.
Lance’s photographs inspire a sense of awareness in an otherwise perhaps overlooked ordinary moment. His works might seem hauntingly isolating, evoke emotions, compress differences, portray subtle tensions, initiate mental scenarios, or take you to an unnoticed precise glimpse into time and space. His hope is that their serene beauty and underlying interpretive nuances may cause you to think, dream, and appreciate.
He has said, “I have a strong interest in black & white photography and design. I see myself as a designer and poetic photographer striving to express and communicate thoughts, visions and emotions by means of an image. My goal is to have my imagery and design transcend time, space and thought to become a truly universal symbol.”
